In a massive win for student-led environmental actions, the Green Ambassadors Team from Asia Pacific Schools has officially clinched Second Place in the prestigious ISP Changemakers: Sustainable Campus 2025-2026. Along with the global recognition, the team has been awarded a grantto fund and scale a sustainability project of their choice with the focus being on energy-saving. Meet the Changemakers The driving force behind this incredible achievement is a dedicated five-member student team who proved that youth-led action can spark measurable environmental change: Muhammad Imran (Team Leader) Wan Megat Putra Dayyan Kayden Hazeeq From Data to Action: The Winning Strategy The team's journey began in October 2025. Rather than just talking about going green, the Green Ambassadors started with hard data. They conducted a comprehensive campus energy audit, using an Energy Checklist to pinpoint exactly where the school was wasting power. Armed with those findings, they rolled out a multi-phase action plan designed to shift the school's culture toward energy conservation. Their daily and weekly initiatives have already transformed the campus: Behavioural Shifts: Delivering regular assembly reminders and placing eye-catching awareness posters in high-traffic areas. Accountability: Conducting weekly classroom energy checks to ensure lights, ACs, and appliances are powered down when not in use. Community Engagement: Organising a school-wide Science Fair to make sustainability interactive, fun, and deeply rooted in STEM learning. Building a Lasting Legacy What set the Asia Pacific Schools team apart wasn't just what they achieved this year, but how they planned for the future. To ensure long-term impact, new Green Ambassadors will be elected annually, creating a self-sustaining system of environmental stewardship. This guarantees that energy-saving habits and green initiatives will continue to thrive for generations of students to come. Stay tuned to see how the team decides to invest their winnings!
