Post-IGCSE Pathways: APIS and Tenby SEP Guide Students Toward Pre-University Success

16-03-2026

The transition from IGCSE to pre-university studies is a major milestone for every student. To support our families, Asia Pacific International School (APIS) recently partnered with Tenby SEP to host an insightful Post-IGCSE Pathways Talk for Year 10 and 11 students and parents.

Led by Ms. Katherine Lloyd (Future Pathways Leader) and Mr. Michael Moss (Head of Pre-U), the session provided a clear roadmap for the next stage of academic life in Malaysia and abroad.

 Demystifying Global Pre-University Options

Navigating the variety of qualifications can be a challenge. The session focused on helping families understand the benefits of the most popular pathways:

  • A-Levels and IBDP
  • American Degree Transfer Programme (ADTP)
  • Australian Matriculation (SAM/AUSMAT)
  • Foundation Programmes

A Unified Support System

The collaboration between APIS and Tenby SEP ensures students receive a unified support system. This includes expert guidance on:

  1. Subject Selection: Aligning IGCSE strengths with Pre-U requirements.
  2. University Shortlisting: Finding the right fit for global higher education.
  3. Application Support: From personal statement workshops to mock interviews.

Empowering the Next Generation

By exploring how universities recognize these qualifications, the talk empowered students to align their strengths with their future ambitions.
